Vox Media is hiring Jeff Kagen as president of the company and CEO.
Kagan joined Vox Media as the company’s chief content officer in April.
He previously served as vice president and senior director of editorial and business operations at Vice Media.
He previously served at AOL, where he helped create a strategy for the company.
Kagen previously was president and executive vice president of news at the Los Angeles Times.
He joined the Times as editor in chief in 2016.
Kagan joined the Los Angles Times as executive editor in 2016, after nearly 20 years at the Tribune Company.
He was also executive editor of The Los Angeles Post.
Prior to joining the Tribune, Kagen served as president, editor and publisher of The Daily Californian, the largest news site in Southern California.
The paper has more than 100 million readers, including more than 60 million daily active users.
He served as editor of the daily paper in Los Angeles for five years.
